Describes Bellcore's view of proposed generic requirements for one line, multiple line and retrofit Outdoor Telephone Network Interfaces that are compatible with a BOC's telecommunications network. The functions of interface include: providing a demarcation point between telephone company loop and subscriber wiring, verification of loop integrity, access to station wiring, by subscriber wiring, as well as providing a weather-resistant protective enclosure for maintenance termination unit party line ringer circuit, station protector, remote isolation device and ringer equivalent circuitry. These requirements may be useful to anyone engaged in the manufacture of such interfaces, and to those purchasing, operating or using such equipment.
