Applies to the HIPERACCESS air interface with the specifications of layer 1 (physical layer), following the ISO-OSI model. HIPERACCESS is confined to only the radio subsystem consisting of the physical (PHY) layer and the DLC layer - which are both core network independent - and the core network specific convergence sub-layer.
