States basic requirements for the evaluation of vibration at the machine-hand contact surface of hand-guided machines, such as lawnmowers, single axis tractors, vibratory rollers, together with other types of machines provided with handles, guiding beams or similar means of control. Codes are designed to provide information on vibration characteristics of a specific type of machinery, made by different manufacturers. Not applicable to hand held power tools and to fixed machinery which transmits vibration to the user's hand through the workpiece or steering wheels.
