La norma specifica i requisiti e metodi di prova per l'etanolo commercializzato e distribuito da utilizzare come componente del combustibile per autotrazione per veicoli con motore a benzina in conformità ai requisiti della UNI EN 228. E applicabile per l'etanolo utilizzato per la miscelazione a tutti i livelli fino al 85% (V/V) compreso.
