A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

The third international conference in this series was held in 1997 in Kuala Lumpur. The theme of the conference was "High-Performance Design and Materials and Recent Advances in Concrete Technology". More than 90 papers from 25 countries were received and reviewed in accordance with the policies of ACI, and 52 were accepted for this publication SP-172.
