It serves as a guide to identify methods that will minimize and ultimately eliminate the occurrences of errors and omissions in Architect/Engineer Construction Documents. This guideline will help to create a common measurement tool to objectively track changes in the work, including errors and omissions. The goal of this document is to: a) Explore the reasons why errors and omissions occur. b) Report the historical levels of errors and omissions. c) Create a common measurement tool to objectively track changes in the work. d) Present legal opinions on the difficulty of classifying errors and omissions, the danger of establishing an absolute "Standard of Care" and unrealistic expectations. e) Identify methods available to minimize the occurrence of errors and omissions.
