Establishes main design features, general dimensions, materials, finishes and accuracies for cast-iron and stone plates in sizes from 160 x 100 mm to 3000 x 2000 mm, with provision for larger sizes if required. Requirements for protection against damage and deterioration are also specified. Three grades of accuracy are provided for. A test for rigidity is described and illustrated, and a test is described for determining proportion of bearing area.
