It includes requirements for the provision and installation of these signs together with illustrations showing their application in typical situations.

This Standard describes traffic control devices for services and tourist facilities and establishments, and for the marking of tourist drives on all roads other than freeways. Requirements are also given in Appendices for the illumination and reflectorization of signs and for their location and installation.NOTE: Services or tourist attractions may be signed from a freeway at interchanges for the benefit of freeway travellers. The signing of these facilities is given in AS 1742.8.This Standard does not cover the design and provision of roadside stopping places. These are dealt with in NAASRA guidelines (see Clause 1.2).
