48 - B1 INTRODUCTION.
48 - B2 TABULATION OF CHEMICAL RESISTANCE OF UPVC PIPE.

Applies to the installation and jointing techniques of UPVC pipe above and below ground. Separate sections cover pipelines for pressure applications, soil, waste and vent, sewer, storm, sullage and surface water and downpipe, and the use of the pipe as a liner. Precautions covering selection, use, handling, transport and storage are given, and the resistance of UPVC to a wide range of chemicals is tabulated.

This code sets out the recommended method of installing unplasticized PVC (UPVC) pipelines, above or below ground for pressure and non-pressure applications.NOTE: Where UPVC pipelines are to be installed underground the safe installation depths are calculated by reference to AS CA68, Rules for Plastics Pipelaying Design.
