Relates to vibration severity of machines run alone under controlled test conditions. Applies to d.c. and 3-phase a.c. machines with shaft heights 56 mm and higher and at a rated power of up to 50 MW, at nominal speeds from 10 r/s up to and including 60 r/s. Vertical machines with shaft height below 400 mm are also covered but only if measured in a state of soft suspension.

This standard sets out test and measurement conditions for the testing of vibration severity of rotating electrical machines run alone under controlled test conditions.
