Provides guidance for the siting, design and operation of timber preservation plants in order to promote conditions for safe working for persons engaged in their operation as well as care for the environment in which they are sited. Procedures of plant layout and operation are outlined in order to reduce potential hazards as far as practicable.

This standard sets out requirements for the operation of timber preservation plants, (hereinafter referred to as plant(s)). It deals in general terms with these aspects in a manner intended to minimize the occupational health risk to plant operators and to lower the potential for environmental pollution.
