Describes alternative test procedures for determining the performance characteristics of fans that are primarily intended for industrial applications. The selection of the most suitable procedure depends on the type of fan, the intended method of use, and the degree of accuracy required. It deals only with laboratory or bench testing. Field testing after installation is not covered.

This Standard describes procedures for determining the performance characteristics of axial flow, radial flow, mixed flow, or tangential flow fans that are primarily intended forindustrial applications. Alternative procedures that are dependent on fan types are provided. The Standard deals only with testing in a laboratory or on a test bench; it does not deal with the testing of a fan after it has been installed.
