Specifies the safety requirements for microwave therapy equipment used in medic al practice for the treatment of the patient by means of a propagated electromagnetic field in the frequency range 300 MHz to 30 GHz. This Standard is to be read in conjunction w ith AS 3200.1.0-1990. It is identical with and reproduced from IEC 601-2-6:1984.

Addition:This Particular Standard specifies requirements for the safety of MICROWAVE THERAPY EQUIPMENT used in medical practice, as defined in Sub-clause 2.1.101, hereinafter referred to asEQUIPMENT.This standard does not apply to EQUIPMENT specified for hyperthermia.
