Recommends standard geometric shapes for kerbs and channels (gutters) manufactured either by precast or cast-in-situ techniques. It specifies materials, manufacturing processes and testing procedures for precast kerbs, and geometry only for cast-in-situ work to ensure similarity in appearance between kerbs and channels irrespective of their method of manufacture. The geometric requirements provide for four classes of kerb: barrier, semi-barrier, semi-mountable and mountable types with various cross-falls. Provision is made for kerb sections conforming to the Standard which may be spiked to road pavements for either temporary, semi-permanent, or permanent purposes.
