This Standard sets out the performance specifications and electrical safety requirements for the coaxial cable infrastructure comprising, coaxial cable, passive and active devices, installed in single and multiple unit premises to enable the high quality distribution of television and sound signals. It provides system performance requirements and apportions the performance attributable to the cable infrastructure from the input of the premises cabling interface (PCI) to the system outlet (wallplate). This Standard is applicable to coaxial cabled distribution systems in residential and commercial premises designed to carry multi-channel analogue and/or digital television and sound signals supporting free to air television (FTA), subscription television (pay TV), or in house video systems. Subscription or pay TV distribution networks include distribution via cable, microwave and satellite.
