Specifies design, construction, manufacturer's tests, and marking requirements for welded LP gas fuel vessels for automotive installation in accordance with AS 1425 or NZS 5422.1. Applicable materials and capacities are carbon steel up to 500 L and stainless steel up to 200 L. An appendix provides information on tests and fittings for subassemblies to be supplied to an installer.

This Standard specifies requirements for welded carbon steel LP gas fuel vessels of total internal volume not greater than 500 L, and for welded stainless steel LP gas fuel vessels of total internal volume not greater than 200 L, intended for automotive installations.NOTES:1 AS 1425 (for use in Australia) and NZS 5422.1 (for use in New Zealand) specify requirements for the installation of LP gas fuel vessels for vehicles.2 Appendix A provides information that may be helpful to suppliers of 'valved-up' vessels for use by an installer without pre-installation tests.
