Provides requirements for two-component full gloss acrylic paint intended for the protection of iron and steel structures against atmospheric corrosion.

This Standard specifies requirements for a two-component, solvent-borne full gloss acrylic paint intended to be used for the protection of iron and steel against exterior atmospheric corrosion. It is primarily designed for application by conventional air or airless spraying. It is also suitable for application to small areas by brush or roller. This paint is intended for use as a decorative topcoat where good colour or gloss retention is required in paint systems for the protection of iron and steel against corrosion involving wet and damp areas, high humidity, coastal/marine and industrial fallout.Paint specified in this Standard is described in AS 2312 as Paint Reference No. 33 and may be used with the appropriate primer in systems LP6-A, MP5-B, MP5-F, MP5-J and MP6-D of AS 2312.NOTES:1 Appendix A contains recommendations and advice on information which should be provided by the purchaser at the time of enquiry or order.2 Additional information on the use and application of acrylic full gloss (two-pack) paints is contained in Appendix B.3 Alternative methods for determining compliance with this Standard are given in Appendix C.4 The paint is available in a range of colours.
