The objective of this Standard is to provide the Australian and New Zealand electrical industry, including manufacturers, regulators, test laboratories and certification bodies, with requirements for boxes and enclosures for electrical accessories for household and similar fixed electrical installations, with particular application to connecting boxes for junction(s) and/or tappings.

This clause of Part 1 applies with the following addition:Add after the fourth paragraph:This standard applies to connecting boxes for junction(s) and/or tapping(s).NOTE: Unless otherwise stated, throughout the document the term “boxes” also applies to “enclosures”.
