Measurement of hydrocarbon types over the concentration ranges of 5 to 95 volume per cent aromatics, 0.3 to 55 volume per cent olefins, and 1 to 95 volume per cent saturates in petroleum fractions that distil below 600 degrees F (315 degrees C). This procedure may apply to concentrations outside these ranges but the precision has not been determined.
