Covers electrically operated commercial deep fat fryers. The electrical part of appliances making use of other forms of energy is within the scope of this standard. Excludes pressure fryers, continuous process fryers for the mass production of food, appliances used in locations where special conditions prevail, for appliances used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, where additional requirements may be necessary. In many countries additional requirements are specified by the national authorities responsible for health, water supplies and the protection of labour. Includes general notes on tests, classification, electrical insulation and leakage current at operating temperature, insulation resistance and electric strength and radiation, toxicity and similar hazards.
