This British Standard specifies requirements for automatic roller-type couplings for semi-trailers in the range 7 tons to 14¾ tons laden weight having a maximum imposed operating weight on the rollers of 5¾ tons. However, the rollers should be plated for a maximum design imposed weight of 6¼ tons to provide a loading tolerance.
