Specifies the colour coding of vehicle wiring giving wiring diagrams for basic and supplementary circuits. For information, shows the destinations of the cables in the 1968 edition.

This British Standard specifies requirements for a colour code for electrical cables used in road vehicles that identifies each circuit by the colour of the cables used.

NOTE Due to the variation in design of some components, such as windscreen wiper motors, it is not possible to include all switches and internal wiring arrangements. The component manufacturers should be consulted for further details.
