This standard is included in DIN Handbook 300/6 and DIN VDE Handbook 342/5. Specifies requirements for the design, construction, performance and installation of smoke vents which operate on the principle of thermal updraught to extract smoke vertically and which are intended for use in industry in single-storey or the top storey of multi-storey buildings (cf. sub-clause 4.1 of DIN 18232 Part 1, September 1981 edition).
