English

A method is specified for determining certain types of hydrocarbons (e.g. paraffins, olefins, naphthenes and aromatics) in oxygen-free hydrocarbon mixtures whose boiling point does not exceed 215 deg C. It may be used to verify their suitability for special applications or as intermediate products (from reforming, isomerizing or cracking processes). The working range of the detector must encompass the boiling points of all components of the mixture; mixtures with narrow boiling ranges might overload the column.
