Diese Norm gilt für Schmierfette. Das Verfahren nach dieser Norm dient der Feststellung, inwieweit sich Schmierfette unter dynamischen Bedingungen gegenüber Wasser (siehe Abschnitt 7) bei verschiedenen Temperaturen verhalten. Das Prüfergebnis stellt nur eine Eigenschaftskennzeichnung dar. Aus dem Prüfergebnis sollten keine bindenden Rückschlüsse auf die Anwendungsmöglichkeiten des geprüften Schmierfettes oder seine Beständigkeit gegenüber Wasser unter den vielfältigen verschiedenen Bedingungen der Praxis gezogen werden.
