The method specified serves to determine the tensile strength perpendicular to the plane of the insulating layer of mineral fibre insulating materials, also referred to as interlaminar tensile strength. For the determination, specimens are taken from the mineral fibre insulating material and subject to increasing tensile stress perpendicular to the plane of the insulating layer.
