Die Prüfung nach dieser Norm gibt einen Anhalt für die Beurteilung des Widerstandes von Kunststoffen gegen 'Korn-Gleit-Verschleiss'. Als Mass dient der volumetrische Abriebbetrag, der durch Schleifen der Probekörper an Schleifpapier bestimmter Qualität ermittelt wird. Prüfverfahren für dekorative Schichtpressstoffplatten und kunststoffbeschichtete dekorative Holzfaserplatten siehe DIN 53 799. Eine Übertragung der aus diesem Versuch gewonnenen Daten auf praktische Anwendungsfälle ist nur möglich, wenn die Prüfbedingungen mit den Bedingungen der Praxis übereinstimmen.
