Die Norm legt die "Default-Definition" für das Mass, spezielle Definitionen und Zeichnungseintragungen für die folgenden Längenmasse von Masselementen von Zylinderarten oder von zwei gegenüberliegenden parallelen Ebenen fest: - örtliches Mass - globales Mass - berechnetes Mass - statistisches Mass. Sie regelt die Bedeutung von Längenmassen, die als + und/oder - Grenzabweichungen, z. B. 0/-0,019 oder als ISO-Toleranzklasse nach ISO 286, z. B. h6 angegeben sind.
