This standard is included in DIN Handbook 303 and 488. Specifies terms relating to surface imperfections in order to establish a common vocabulary for use in technical documents, technical drawings, scientific publications, etc. to define to what extent surface imperfections are allowed and to aid in the specification of procedures for measuring surface imperfections. The surface imperfections defined in this International Standard do not relate to surface roughness or surface waviness.
