Structural design actions Part 3: Snow and ice actions
Superseded date

Published date

This draft proposes values for loads resulting from snow and ice action for use in limit states design of structures for Australia and New Zealand. This draft includes a factor for calculating the snow loads for a range of probabilities of exceedence. Ground snow data is presented for alpine and sub-alpine regions. The format has been adopted from ISO 4355:1998, Bases for design of structures - Determination of snow loads on roofs. Shape coefficients have not been adopted from the ISO Standard as the snow conditions in Australia and New Zealand are different than those covered in that Standard. The Commentary accompanying this draft, included at the back, will be published as a separate document (Supplement 1) to the Standard.
