Proposes the adoption of IEC 60825-1:2001 as a joint Australian/New Zealand Standard. IEC 60825-1 provides minimum requirements and specific guidance for the safe operation and maintenance of lasers and laser systems. The MPE (maximum permissible exposure) values of this Standard were developed for laser radiation other than for the purpose of medical treatment.
