Proposes data and procedures for determining minimum earthquake loads, and requirements for general detailing. It also proposes methods for determining loads due to earthquake ground motion and is intended to apply to buildings, parts of buildings, fixings, non-structural elements and building services. It does not apply to special structures such as nuclear reactors, dams, transmission towers, piers and wharves. The new Standard will be part of the Loading Code AS 1170, Part 4 and will supersede AS 2121 when published.
