Proposes procedures for the prevention, detection and treatment of subterranean termite infestation in buildings and other structures. It includes provisions for both physical and chemical barriers which restrict the access of termites to timber. It proposes methods for determining the extent of infestation, the treatment required, how to prevent reinfestation, and gives details of a certificate of treatment and code of practice for the safe use of termiticides. The proposed Standard will supersede AS 1694, AS 2057 and AS 2178 when published.
