Proposes requirements for the assurance of product quality in the manufacture of boilers, pressure vessels and associated equipment. It covers both regulatory and purchaser requirements and proposes varying degrees of independent design verification and fabrication inspection for manufacturers both with and without an accredited quality system. Requirements are also related to hazard levels of the equipment, determined on the basis of risk analysis. The draft is intended to be issued for public comment under the joint auspices of Standards Australia and subject to confirmation by the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission, Worksafe Australia.
