Proposes mechanical property evaluation requirements for mechanically stress-graded timber for structural applications and also includes specifications for dimensional tolerances, moisture content, marking, visual inspection and re-inspection. Two additional colours have been allocated to stress grades F27 and F34 which were not previously indicated. A colour chart assigning a colour to the particular stress-grades is intended for inclusion in the final publication, but is not included in the draft version because of printing constraints. This draft is intended for issue as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard concurrently with the proposed draft Standard, Timber - Stress-graded - Guide to the control of mechanical stress-grading operations.
