Proposes the adoption of IEC 947-1:1988 as an Australian Standard, with the exception of Australian Appendix AA, which harmonizes as far as practicable all rules and requirements of a general nature applicable to low voltage switchgear and controlgear up to 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. in order to obtain uniformity of requirements and tests throughout the corresponding range of equipment and to avoid the need for testing to different Standards. Australian Appendix AA proposes variations to IEC 947-1:1988 for Australian conditions. Copies of IEC 947-1:1988 may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia Office.
