Proposes the adoption of IEC 898:1987, together with IEC 898 Amendment 1:1989, IEC 898 Amendment 2:1989 and IEC 898 Amendment 3:1990, as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard, with the addition of Annex A. This draft Standard applies to a.c. air-break circuit-breakers for operation at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, having a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V, a rated current not exceeding 125 A and a rated short-circuit capacity not exceeding 25 000 A. Annex A proposes variations for Australian/New Zealand conditions. Copies of IEC 898:1987, together with IEC 898 Amendment 1:1989, IEC 898 Amendment 2:1989 and IEC 898 Amendment 3:1990, may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia office.
