Proposes the requirements of alloy steel (chromium molybdenum) to raise its efficiency 4 percent above those specified in BS 5045.1 while still maintaining proven safety margins. Also, to maintain safety, the limits of the steels used in this proposed Standard and known to induce stress cracking, are well within those limits given in the British, American and ISO Standards.
