Proposes the dimensions and marking requirements for normal nuts, slotted nuts, castle nuts and thin nuts with ISO metric coarse pitch series threads with diameters up to and including 64 mm, and the material requirements for steel nuts of property classes 04, 05, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 12. Requirements for products requiring special properties, such as weldability, corrosion-resistance or the ability to withstand temperatures above +300 degrees Celsius or below -50 degrees Celsius are not given. Appendices cover recommended hexagon nut sizes for threads greater than M64, recommended combinations of steel nuts and externally threaded steel fasteners and the complete designation for the purpose of an enquiry or order. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
