Proposes requirements for the design and performance of electrically operated heat alarms containing both detection and alarm facilities. It is also proposed that these devices may be used in conjunction with legislatively required smoke alarms to provide coverage in areas where smoke alarms are not viable due to ambient conditions causing spurious alarms.
