Proposes the adoption of IEC 34-9:199X (Edition 3) (currently document IEC/2/942/CDV, January 1996) to supersede AS 1359.51-1986. Proposes limits for sound power levels for machines operating at no load, and, for certain three-phase cage-induction motors, limits for the increase in sound power level between no load and full load. Copies of IEC 2/942/CDV may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia office.
