Acoustics - Methods of measurement and recommended design sound levels and reverberation times for building interiors

Superseded date

06-30-2017

Published date

07-09-1999

Proposes methods of measurement and design criteria for conditions affecting the acoustic environment within occupied spaces in new and existing buildings. The proposed ambient sound levels take into account the function of the area(s) and apply to the sound level measured within the space unoccupied but ready for occupancy. Steady-state or quasi-steady state noise both external to a building (e.g. traffic noise, industrial noise) and within a building (e.g. building services noise) is considered. Proposed as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard.
