Gives the functions for the emulation of a basic access over ATM providing an efficient way to connect existing N-ISDN terminal to PINX over a digital ATM section. These connections can be either a semi-permanent connection or a switched virtual connection mapping scheme for 3 types of basic access information (B1 B2 and D channels as well as control/status information) into ATM cells. The static mapping of basic access information to ATM cells is specified and the standard is applicable for private networks but is also suitable for public networks.
