Defines functional, electrical, optical and mechanical characteristics of fibre optic interface for connection of a 4- or 16-Mbit/s token ring station to the trunk coupling unit (TCU) of a token ring, providing an informative annex for connection of fibre trunk cables between trunk coupling units. Includes signalling provisions for in order to bypass the station from the ring and self-test capabilities.
