La prsente Norme internationale a t labore fin de dfinir les exigences minimales acceptables pour les quipements de vannes de scurit de fond (SSSV). Elle concerne les vannes de scurit de fond, les systmes les performances ou l'interchangeabilit des quipements des vannes de scurit de fond. Les systmes de verrouillage, les mandrins d'ancrage et les vannes de scurit de fond fabriqus par diffrents tablissements industriels ou constructeurs peuvent tre fournis sparment. NOTE: Restrictions : La vanne de scurit de fond est un quipement de scurit d'urgence et n'est pas prvue ou conue pour raliser des oprations courantes d'exploitation telles que le dusage de la production ou de l'injection, les arrts programms de production ou comme clapet anti-retour.
