Le présent document traite de l'évaluation des matériels de radiocommunications et des matériels auxiliaires en ce qui concerne la compatibilité électromagnétique. Il spécifie les essais relatifs à la compatibilité électromagnétique, les méthodes d'essai, les limites et les critères d'aptitude à la fonction minimaux des appareils radioélectriques mobiles terrestres privés (appareils en vocal et/ou en non vocal) fonctionnant dans la gamme de fréquences 30 - 1000 MHz, ainsi que des appareils auxiliaires associés. Les exigences relatives à la compatibilité électromagnétique ont été déterminées de façon à assurer un niveau adéquat de CEM pour les appareils se trouvant dans des environnements résidentiel, commercial, d'industrie légère et à bord de véhicules. Toutefois, ces niveaux ne couvrent pas les cas extrêmes pouvant survenir n'importe où mais avec une très faible probabilité.
