La présente norme définit une procédure d'essai dans laquelle les échantillons devant être essayés sont immergés dans un solvant d'essai, à une température et pendant un temps spécifiés. Si la spécification particulière le précise, après immersion et séchage, les échantillons peuvent être frottés avec du coton hydrophile ou du papier mousseline. Le guide pour l'essai est donné en annexe.
