EAST ASIAN CHARACTER CODE FOR BIBLIOGRAPHIC USE
Published date

01-12-2013

This publication provides a computer coding structure for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, using 3-byte code values in an 8-bit environment. Provisions for expansion are also given. This standard is available in microfiche (11 fiche), as printed text would exceed 800 pages. Over a quarter of the world's population speaks, reads or writes an East Asian language therefore this publication has special significance if we want to access, retrieve, and interchange the wealth of resources written in one of these languages.
