Dieser Teil der prEN 716 legt Anforderungen an die Sicherheit von allen Arten von Kinderbetten mit einer Innenlänge grösser als 900 mm und höchstens 1400 mm zur Verwendung im Wohnbereich fest. Kinderbetten, die in andere Gegenstände, z. B. in Wickeltische oder Kinderlaufställe, umwandelbar sind, müssen im umgebauten Zustand der jeweils für den Gegenstand gültiger Norm entsprechen. Im Anhang A (informativ) werden die in dieser Norm behandelten Masse zusammengefasst.
