Bellcore's view of proposed generic requirements for ISDN Message Services. These requirements support service configurations in which the client user and the Message Storage and Retrieval (MSR) System are served by the same switch or different switches. The emphasis of the requirements is on call coverage for voice calls with messages intended for the human client user of an MSR System. The document includes a major section on feature requirements as well as several appendices that contain examples of component coding - ISDN access signaling, SMDI protocol, SS7ISDNUP messages, SS7ISDNUP parameters, SS7 TCAP messages, SS7 TCAP parameters, and mapping between SS7 and ISDN access protocol
